NFL SuperBowl XLVIII Preview
NFL SuperBowl XLVIII kicks off this Monday morning Australian time and the Number 1 seeds from both the AFC and NFC will do battle outdoors in MetLife Stadium, New Jersey. It is a unique battle: Denver Broncos and their #1 offence up against the Seattle Seahawks and their #1 defence. Weather might play a factor in the game too. At time of writing, weather.com was showing a high of 10 degrees and a low of -2 on Sunday, 10% chance of rain, wind WSW at 11km/h.
How they got here
The hallmark of Denver’s season was their offence, a league high 606 points for, 76 touchdowns and a points differential of plus 207. 2 weeks ago they were too consistent and too solid for New England in the Conference Championships, taking out the game 26-16. In the NFC, Seattle secured their #1 seeding with a 13 win season and defensively they only allowed 231 points in total from their 16 regular season games. In the Conference championships, Seattle scored 10 unanswered points in the 4th quarter to overrun the 49ers by 6 points, 23-17.
